Omaha, KC, Manhattan, and the LONG Drive Home...

The last leg of our trip was awesome. We spent a few days in Omaha and then headed to Kansas City for the weekend. We spent Friday at a Royals game and it rained SO hard! Then Saturday we headed to the amusement park! Our last stop was Manhattan to see where Brett calls home. We then started the long trek home. Sunday was a 17 hour driving day and Monday we drove 22 hours from Fort Collins, Colorado all the way to Eugene!!

Our trip total mileage was 4,168!! That is a LOT of driving in 9 DAYS! Here are some pictures from the rest of our trip...

We're ENGAGED!!!!

Here is our engagement story... We had planned to do a hike, but the weather wasn't really cooperating. We decided to go anyway, despite the rain, thunder, and lightening! This picture is at Inspiration Point when the weather really started to get bad. We were having so much fun though! It was SO beautiful!


Grant stopped to check out a deer with two fawn...


Apparently the original plan was for Tom and Donna to say they wanted to go on their own hike, so Grant would have an excuse for us to be alone. That didn't end up working out so Grant was kind of freaking out trying to figure everything out on the fly. He stopped at this spot and started taking a bunch of pictures...


This was all fine and good, but it wasn't very like Grant.. he usually isn't the one to initiate pictures. At that point Donna rushed Tom away.. I started to catch on a little bit, but I wasn't sure. I was really annoyed because I thought Tom and Donna just didn't want to hang out with us! Grant started saying he really had to pee... so we walked a little and we found a spot. I was insisting that he go in one place but he went behind a tree...now I know he didnt really need to pee he wanted to get the ring out of his pocket.

Once I thought he was done peeing I started to continue the hike... we were cold and wet and I wanted to see as much as we could before it got too late. All of a sudden he said something and I turned around and there he was in a poncho on one knee with my ring. He asked me to marry him and I, of course, said YES!! I started screaming and laughing and kissing him... it was pretty funny Grant had to tell me to stop cuz we didnt want anyone to think I was getting eaten by a bear!

From that point on I didnt want to hike. We just sat and talked and had a little photo shoot...

So Beautiful... this is a deep hotspring in the West part of Yellowstone. Sorry it is sideways, haven't figured that one out yet..

Our Trip From the Beginning... Driving

We were so pumped to leave Eugene for our road trip, but we had quite the time getting everything in the car! Here it is all packed....


Already getting crazy from being in the car! Gotta love the Burger King Crown...

We're Outta Here....

Our trip is finally here! We are starting our trek to the midwest bright and early tomorrow morning! We're driving to Idaho tomorrow and spending the night in a national park, then heading to Yellowstone Sunday morning and camping two nights there...



Then on Tuesday morning we will drive a few hours to the Grand Tetons and stay 1 night in a cabin...



Wednesday morning we will drive our longest day 13 hours to Omaha! We CAN'T wait to see Jon and Jess and the new place they call home!



Then Friday afternoon we will drive to Kansas City with Jon, Jess, and Brett to spend the weekend watching baseball and playing in an amusement park!



Our last stop will be Manhattan, Kansas on our way back to see Brett's new place and lab.



Then we just gotta make the long trek back to Eugene by 11am Tuesday so I can make it in time to teach!
