My First Mother's Day

Look at her smiling! Those cheeks! I'm in love with that little outfit we inherited from Jenni!

IMG_6711

We spent the day walking as a family and then doing a bit of yard work before going over to my parent's for a bbq. Grant was sweet and got me a craft themed gift...a bag for my knitting and a yarn gift card!

Lindsey & Leslie's Birthday

IMG_6680

We usually celebrate these girl's with a little bunco, but this year they decided a simple dinner was the way to go. A good group of us met at a restaurant just down the street from our house...score! didn't have to get in the car with Edrie!

Our little fam.

All the girls.

Grant was horrified that I let her share my milkshake. She LOOOOVED it. She probably really drank half of it. He's convinced I'm giving her diabetes.

It was so nice to get out with friends! We don't do that enough these days!

Eight Months!

IMG_6719

She is nine months in a few days so I need to get this up! Her transition from seven to eight months was so fun! Because I can't remember all the details...I'll just post the letter I wrote Edrie when she turned eight months. I'll need to be writing another in a few days!

Baby Girl,

You are such a joy! Seriously, you have endlessly complicated and unsettled our life, but for all the ways you have made things harder there are ten ways you have made it better. Your Papa and I, we just are in utter awe of you ALL.THE.TIME! And its not just us - people on the Max, in the grocery store, and OH MAN all those grandparents you have wrapped around your tiny, chubby little finger!

You have lots of new tricks - you clapped for the first time the other day and it was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. You are able to pull yourself up to your knees from sitting and you want to crawl so bad, but you aren't quite there yet. You still love the Ergo and being held, but you are getting more independent. The weather has been so nice lately and you are happiest outside playing on a blanket. You've even started riding in the stroller happily. You still seem to prefer the Ergo, though. You are eating up a storm. Anything we eat - you get angry if we don't share. You love bread, eggs, milkshakes! (much to your papa's horror!), pasta, fruit, yogurt. You love bath time so much you can hardly wait for the water to get filled up before I put you in. Then you can entertain yourself in there for 10 minutes! You say 'Mamamama' sometimes. We thought you knew you were saying Mama, but I am still unsure. Its cute either way! You also give kisses. Its my favorite trick, but you are pretty stingy and only give them out sometimes. Its awesome though - they are always open mouthed and super slobbery! What else? You have a total of three teeth now and I bet your other top front tooth will be in very soon! You still adore Olive and kids - oh man! Bringing you to the park is so awesome because you love to swing and watch the kids run around you. You could be happy there all day. Oh, and you have started throwing tantrums. We haven't figured out the best reaction yet, but you are sure strong willed!

I hope you know how much we love you. Its so very overwhelming and amazing. I could just cuddle you forever.

xoxo, mama

TEETH!

Edrie has FOUR teeth these days, but in May I was working hard to get pictures of these first two bottom ones. They came in early April.

She was getting so mad at me trying to get her to open her mouth she clamped those lips shut!

First Haircut!

IMG_6608 IMG_6617

Grant finally convinced me to cut Edrie's mullet. I found a day that we were both home so we could have pictures to document her first haircut!

IMG_6612

I took off at least a full inch!

IMG_6623

We're both unsure about this.

San Diego Trip

IMG_6514

At the end of April, Grant had a conference in San Diego. Edrie and I decided to tag along to see the sun, my brother, and good friends. Edrie helped me pack... look at her fat face! Its only been a month and she has thinned out considerably

Baby mullet in the airport! She did really well on the flight. She is very squirmy these days but she sat with me well and we even napped for a bit. Grant had a different flight so we were on our own.

IMG_6521

For some reason this picture and the following two make me laugh. Especially if you can click through them quickly.

Her hair was so long!

We've been trying to get those teeth on camera for so long!

IMG_6546

My cousin, Aunt, and Brother. So good to see family and introduce them to Edrie. She was a huge hit!

Edrie LOOVED Sophia!

So cute!

I had to get a picture of those cheeks while we were eating breakfast one morning. I heart that stripped hat... I'll be missing it next winter.

IMG_6573

Ha! I let her have some of my chocolate ice cream. Needless to say, she liked it. Grant is convinced I'm giving our daughter diabetes. He is a bit dramatic, but we love him anyway.

she is SO freaking funny. love it.

Sleepy waiting for Raneat and Noa at the zoo! We actually spent lots of time with them while we were in SD, but I was lazy about taking pictures so there isn't much evidence. We had lunch and walked around downtown, got cupcakes, ate breakfast, and spent the day at the zoo. It was so much fun to see them and to meet Noa. We REALLY miss our Missouri friends!

IMG_6581

I was so lazy with the pictures...this is the only animal one I took. I wish I'd taken a pictures of the monkey that wanted to attack Edrie. It seriously was pacing in front of the window and she was staring at him. All of a sudden he turned and slammed into the glass. She started bawling. Zoos are kind of depressing sometimes.

IMG_6582

A rare picture in the stroller... she lasts about 5 minutes at a time for me, but she is definitely getting better. Noa is in the background!

Sleepy after a long day out!

IMG_6584

Efron and Joel had Lady E (as Joel calls her) and I over for steak tostadas one night...soo good! And so fun to see my brother with my baby girl. I wish they got to spend more time together!

Bouncing!

IMG_6594

Our last morning we had breakfast with Jessica, Lilly, Raneat, Noa, and Lynne. So fun!

IMG_6595

Eat her up!

IMG_6599

Raneat and Noa!

I wish I'd taken more pictures. We tried to lay by the pool the one day the sun came out, but it was gone before we even got out there. It was fun to put E in a bathing suit though!  We had dinner one night with Tom at the restaurant my brother works at. The food and company were awesome! Another night we met Brett for dinner - also super good to see him! We wish our friends weren't spread all over the country so we could spend more time with them! If only Grant hadn't gotten food poisoning - it would have been a perfect trip!
