wedding review :: crafts :: embroidery

i fell in love with embroidery in the midst of planning our wedding. i created a few ways to include it - baskets with toiletries and towels in the bathrooms. hoodies for the bridesmaids (and one for me). patch for my dress.

that is all so amazing! I can't believe all that you did plus I am sure there is ton that I don't even know you did. incredible, you are!

I have been meaning to ask you didn't like your wedding fabric anymore?

That is incredible! How long did it take you to learn and do this? I would love to learn!

Hi Lori - glad you stopped by! Embroidery is an incredibly easy craft - check out the book "doodle stiches". I did a little practicing and started with the towels. Regular cotton and linen seem to be the easiest to stitch on, but you can make almost anything work.

I got the book and can't wait to start! Where can I find more designs? I noticed it is hard to find contemporary designs.

Greatest thing about embroidery is that you can use ANYTHING as a design. I found my designs on google images but you can get tracing paper and get designs out of books. To transfer designs to your fabric I think the best method is using graphite paper - this method is described in that book (i think).

How cute is your wedding- Your dress was so beautiful! My sisters getting married in April, and i'd love to surprise her with something like this! Plus I always love a good craft. Where did you get the sweatshirts? I love how they are still frilly and girly?!
