San Diego Trip

IMG_6514

At the end of April, Grant had a conference in San Diego. Edrie and I decided to tag along to see the sun, my brother, and good friends. Edrie helped me pack... look at her fat face! Its only been a month and she has thinned out considerably

Baby mullet in the airport! She did really well on the flight. She is very squirmy these days but she sat with me well and we even napped for a bit. Grant had a different flight so we were on our own.

For some reason this picture and the following two make me laugh. Especially if you can click through them quickly.

Her hair was so long!

We've been trying to get those teeth on camera for so long!

My cousin, Aunt, and Brother. So good to see family and introduce them to Edrie. She was a huge hit!

Edrie LOOVED Sophia!

So cute!

I had to get a picture of those cheeks while we were eating breakfast one morning. I heart that stripped hat... I'll be missing it next winter.

IMG_6573

Ha! I let her have some of my chocolate ice cream. Needless to say, she liked it. Grant is convinced I'm giving our daughter diabetes. He is a bit dramatic, but we love him anyway.

she is SO freaking funny. love it.

Sleepy waiting for Raneat and Noa at the zoo! We actually spent lots of time with them while we were in SD, but I was lazy about taking pictures so there isn't much evidence. We had lunch and walked around downtown, got cupcakes, ate breakfast, and spent the day at the zoo. It was so much fun to see them and to meet Noa. We REALLY miss our Missouri friends!

IMG_6581

I was so lazy with the pictures...this is the only animal one I took. I wish I'd taken a pictures of the monkey that wanted to attack Edrie. It seriously was pacing in front of the window and she was staring at him. All of a sudden he turned and slammed into the glass. She started bawling. Zoos are kind of depressing sometimes.

IMG_6582

A rare picture in the stroller... she lasts about 5 minutes at a time for me, but she is definitely getting better. Noa is in the background!

Sleepy after a long day out!

IMG_6584

Efron and Joel had Lady E (as Joel calls her) and I over for steak tostadas one night...soo good! And so fun to see my brother with my baby girl. I wish they got to spend more time together!

Bouncing!

IMG_6594

Our last morning we had breakfast with Jessica, Lilly, Raneat, Noa, and Lynne. So fun!

IMG_6595

Eat her up!

IMG_6599

Raneat and Noa!

I wish I'd taken more pictures. We tried to lay by the pool the one day the sun came out, but it was gone before we even got out there. It was fun to put E in a bathing suit though!  We had dinner one night with Tom at the restaurant my brother works at. The food and company were awesome! Another night we met Brett for dinner - also super good to see him! We wish our friends weren't spread all over the country so we could spend more time with them! If only Grant hadn't gotten food poisoning - it would have been a perfect trip!

April Randoms

IMG_20120418_070747
Perhaps I'll actually someday be blogging in real time again... For now lets close out April with a few posts. I took this top photo because those were our favorite pjs on her until she out grew them. I love cotton pjs that are snug on babies... too cute!

Oh man...those two love eachother! If a dog jumps up on me at the dog park to smell or lick Edrie Olive goes crazy. Its the only time she is really aggressive. And she doesn't bite the dog or anything, but she lets them know to leave Edrie along. Makes me smile.

A few weeks ago I made pesto and shared it with Edrie for lunch. She LOOOVED it!

Yard Work

IMG_1341

We've had the most amazing weather this spring - I'm pretty sure it was in the 80s this day! We worked on weeding the front yard. It made a minor improvement, but there is so much work to be done. Its going to take years. Many of them. I need to come to terms with that!

IMG_1344

IMG_1346 IMG_1351

This was the first day I tried her on my back... so awesome for my productivity! She likes it most of the time so as long as I can get her back there and off safely its a win win!

Local Swing

IMG_6461

Apparently, Grant knew this park existed since we moved in, but I had no idea. One day I mentioned I wanted to find a place that had baby swings for Edrie and Grant is like why dont you just take her to that park on the other side of Fremont. So yea, its a 5 minute walk and its always busy  which is awesome for Edrie to watch all the kids run around.

IMG_6472

We always take both girls - Olive hates being tied up but she tolerates it because she LOVES it when the kids come to pet her.

IMG_6477

Couldn't be cuter, right?? The hat kills me!

IMG_6481

Since the day she discovered her tongue it has been hanging out!

Seven Months

IMG_6413

So yea, she is now 8 months, but I'm just getting around to posting her 7 month picture and update. If you only knew the half of the craziness that has been our life! I finished orientation at the hospital last night so we are on the verge of a much calmer existence (at least we have our fingers crossed for that). I'm only going to work one or two nights a week! So much better than three!

Anyway, this kid is so awesome. Looking back at my letter to her - at seven months she had gotten the hang of sitting up all on her own and had broke her first tooth! She got the bottom, right, front one in first and then not too long later the other bottom front came in. She didn't seem too bothered by them, but she does sleep crappy the nights they break through. Unfortunately, the first one came through on a night that Grant was on his own and I was working. He practically threw Edrie at me in the morning. Poor guy - he was so exhausted! At seven months she was also taking big strides in trying to eat. She had tried...banana, roasted cauliflower, avocado, salsa, tomato, apple, pear, mango (a favorite!), broccoli, carrots, hummus (she loves!), butternut squash (she couldn't get enough), potatoes (she adores!), and more. At that time she was definitely swallowing a bit, but mostly she just gnawing on things and trying them for flavor. She is so much fun and gets more independent ALL the time. She likes to sit on a quilt and play with her toys - gets them all out of the basket, examining and tasting them. Then she squaks and flaps her arms when she is ready for something new!

The outtakes from 7 months...

IMG_6431

oh my goodness - those lips!

IMG_6434

IMG_6458

check out the thighs! I LOOVE to squeeze them!

Edrie's First Easter

IMG_6371

Edrie's first Easter was very low key. We don't go to church so we just celebrated at home with a simple basket of goodies.

IMG_6372

I made this tiny bunny out of one of her socks. So cute, right? The tutorial is on pinterest

IMG_6375

Olive helped us celebrate

IMG_6379

Checkin' things out!

IMG_6381

No denying who this kid's father is. Spitting image!

IMG_6388

Loves reading!

IMG_6395

We spent the rest of the morning doing our usual walk to get coffee and took Olive the the dog park. All in all an awesome day.
