bye bye bye

the girl and i cuddled up after we helped our boy celebrate his TWENTY NINTH birthday yesterday...isn't she funny with her upside down, leg splayed cuddle?? i love it! lately, grant has been letting us fall asleep together and then he takes baby girl to her crate...its my fav.

tomorrow we will have to leave this girl for the first time since she was 6 weeks old! i'm ABSOLUTELY positive it will be harder on me than her...i just hope they are good to her, but i'm sure they will be.

Oregon is one of the few places that can draw us away from this face... CAN NOT WAIT to see all the GREEN and all our fam/friends!

round 2

Thursday and Friday of this week were beautiful here - high 60s and sunny! We were so excited for a chance to get outside and we'd been wanting to take Olive to another dog park. We tried the one everyone touts as the best in town...and they were totally right! As you can see there were lots of good smells!

Olive was hilarious and really well behaved. She hardly jumped up on people (something we've been working on) at all! This was her signature move when a new dog was coming up to her - for one she was tired and also being submissive. She ran around for about 2 hours and even fell in the lake once - that was funny because she was totally stunned and didn't quite know what to do!

We left as the sun went down over the little lake - it was really beautiful.

Taking Olive anywhere in the car is always an adventure because it always ends in vomit with the occasional diarrhea for good measure - this time was no different. I got her out of the car when we stopped to pick up food just in time for her to go to the bathroom and then she puked out the car window just as we pulled onto our street. We keep hoping she will grow out of it, but there are no signs of improvement so far... does anyone have any suggestions for this?? At first I thought it was a result of nausea, but with the diarrhea I am wondering if it is anxiety. It even happens when one of us is cuddling with her in the backseat, though...

Oh... and then Friday night and all day Saturday it snowed. I was super unexcited.

OMG!!

you NEED to make this. Grant's new diet has made meal planning challenging in a whole new way, but when i spotted this sesame shrimp on Tasty Kitchen i thought it might be good. it is way beyond good - i couldn't stop raving about it! i swear it tastes like something you get at a restaurant! and my favorite part... it took G 15 minutes or less to make!

beloved weekend...

she does not appreciate the awesomeness of photography just yet

i'm sick so our weekend involved lots of this while reading the first book in the twilight series.
olive was sleeping just before this picture was taken...she still chooses the funniest positions.

she hearts the hippo...her favorite game is when we chase her - i think she likes to prove how out of shape her mama is!

my clinical rotation at the local retirement facility made me fall back in love with puzzles (what? you're surprised to know that doing puzzles is included as a necessary part of a 15 month nursing education??), so we bought one to do together for valentine's day. it took us a month to get to, but we had fun working on it!

after we started the edges we saw Crazy Heart...it is so good - you really should see it.

have a happy week...

136 days til nursing school is over and 12 days til we're in OREGON!!! i'm already getting sad to leave Oregon - i'm pretty sure that isn't normal...

dog park

wow. i don't think our blog has ever been this neglected...so so sad! we have been so ridiculously busy I can't even describe it. so many changes, so many things to do (many of which i abhor) makes for little to blog about and little time to blog at all! we did actually take some time last weekend for a little family outing...

Olive finally got her last vaccinations last week so we thought it would be fun to take her to the dog park. Its about a mile away and Olive doesn't do well in the car (lets just say the last time I took her to the vet she pooped, peed, and vomited just on the way there...) so we decided to walk there and back. Here is Olive and G waiting for me to run back and get a hat....sooo cold!

here we are on the trail...olive was not being very cooperative for pictures!

and at the dog park - no one else was there so olive was kind of confused, she was like 'i have a whole backyard why did you bring me here??' she got over it and we played...

and chewed...

and bounded...

and played some more...

and then i kissed my husband before we made the trek home. its rough being so busy and having a puppy - she is so demanding of the little time we do have that we have a hard time fitting in time together. it was nice to take an afternoon and be able to relax. olive was so exhausted after the walk home that she gave up at the top of our street - she just plopped down in our neighbor's yard and looked at us like 'i'm done either take me or leave me' i carried her home and she proceeded to sleep for the rest of the day! i think we will be taking another dog park trip this weekend...

i put a few more pictures of baby girl up on facebook if you are interested...she is so stinkin' cute you know you have to look!
